Giants Midnight Replay

About Me

My name is Jeff. I am a Giants fan. I loved the Giants when I was about 7 years old until I was 13. Coincidentally those years where almost the exact years that Will Clark spent with the Giants. When he was traded to Texas my young mind was blown. I saw for the first time that money had a large part to play in my favorite sport (duh). I did not watch another baseball game until I was half way through college. When I started listening to KNBR late in the 2005 season the Giants were fading despite the recent addition of Randy Winn. Bonds was out and we went on to finish 3rd in the West. At first the reason I would listen to games was because I stayed awake better in the car when a game was on as opposed to music while making my commute to NVJC.

So forgive me if I sound like I have never seen the Giants go to the World Series, I was not there in 2002. In my mind the last time they went was 1989. I was 9 years old and watching on a black and white TV, while the earth shook and my team got killed.

The things that interest me in baseball are the small things. I have re-fostered my relationship with baseball and the Giants during a time where the team was terrible 2005-2008. I am used to taking excellent pitching for granted, and I am also shocked to see home runs happen.

I have recently transplanted to Brooklyn, NYC with my girlfriend who is also a Giants fan. This blog is my way to keep myself into baseball and the Giants. If the worst happens, (The Giants become and un-interesting team….not a losing team, because those can sometimes be interesting, but a boring team. like say…….. the cubs) I can still have this bog as a way to connect with the team that I will always love.
